Dr. Wanda Minnis-Dyson is founder and director of the Change for Life Wellness and Aesthetics Center, a Washington, D.C. based practice. The Change for Life Wellness and Aesthetic Center (CFL) is a multifaceted practice with the aim of promoting Aesthetics and the overall Health and Wellbeing of its patients. After working in the private and government sector from 1994-1998, Dr. Dyson established her own practice in Internal Medicine in 1999.
Shortly after its inception, Bariatrics (weight loss) was added to the practice. After the addition of Mesotherapy and Aesthetics in 2004, the practice segued in an entirely new direction. Change for Life Wellness and Aesthetics was born out of a creative merge of Dr. Dyson’s diverse background and training. Dr. Dyson’s motto, “Inner Health, Outer Beauty.” describes her evolving practice. CFL transformed (the physical plant, itself, as well as its offerings) to meet the growing demands of a different type of patient. CFL provides a full service Aesthetics’ practice, offering its clients the benefits of such treatments as the Apollo Tripollar laser (reduces areas of fat that do not typically respond to diet and exercise and tightens skin), Mesolift™ (designed to rejuvenate aging skin) and liquid face lifts (non-invasive aesthetic enhancements using Treatments such as Botox® injections and Juvéderm® fillers). Other services include providing a variety of medical grade facial peels, medical grade skin care products, Microdermabrasion, Dermapen and Selphyl (Platelet Rich Plasma), thereby incorporating both medical and spa services under one roof. The center offers Wellness services which include Women’s and Men’s Wellness Packages, “The Wiley Protocol®” for Bio-identical Hormone replacement, Hormone Testing Services, Weight Loss Programs- offering individualized treatment programs specifically addressing the needs of overweight and obese patients. On November 27, 2017, Dr. Dyson appeared on Roland Martin’s “NewOneNow show” as an expert on the “Reversal of Diabetes”. Dr. Dyson’s expertise as a Master/Advanced injector and Change for Life Wellness & Aesthetic Center has been featured on Fox 5 News. Dr. Dyson also appeared on two segments of DC TV’s “It’s Your Turn” as a Health and Wellness expert.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Dyson was an expert guest who spoke on breast cancer prevention on WPFW radio shows- Joni Eisenberg’s “Heal DC” and Ryma Khat Khouda’s “Voices with Vision”. She has also participated as an expert discussing other health related issues on past WOL and WPFW radio shows.
Speaking Circuit and Community & Activities:
Dr. Dyson is a Speaker for Vistage an international group of CEOs’. Of recent, she lectured to Vistage members- the world’s leading business advisory and executive coaching organization designed exclusively for CEOs, business owners and key executives. “How to Be Healthy” (It’s Not What You Think), an ever-evolving lecture created by Dr. Dyson has been presented to the Vistage group as well as “BIG” (Blacks in Government) at the FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. She has also presented “How to Be Healthy” (It’s Not What You Think) to other organizations in the public and private sector. Dr. Dyson desired to provide a balanced look at hormone replacement therapy. As a result, “Dispelling the Myths of Hormone Therapy” was birthed from countless hours of research on the pros and cons of hormone therapy. “Dispelling the Myths of Hormone Therapy” has been presented ongoing at “The Hill Center” on Capitol Hill as well as other venues. She has lectured beauty professionals at Bennett Career Institute and C. Alan Systems’ 1st and 2nd annual “Celebrity Beauty Symposium” held at Washington D.C.’s Convention Center. Her brainchild “Healthy and Wealthy on the Hill“ was the result of the collaborative efforts of local Washington DC businesses, including Citibank, Results the Gym, the Wellness Café, and New Life Wellness Center among others. It was designed to raise health awareness issues and cement the link between health and wealth. Dr. Dyson participated in Glaxo Smith Kline’s Health Pavilion as a clinical practitioner and expert at the National Council of Negro Women’s Black Family Reunion where she provided attendees with an informed perspective about their health. She also conducted health workshops at the “Rejuvenate and Release Health Fair” sponsored by the Anacostia Gallery and Boutique. A well-received workshop, entitled “Health Strategies for an Abundant Life,” was presented by Dr. Dyson at the 33rd Annual National Conference on the Black Family in America. In the area of Aesthetics, Dr. Dyson participated in the Women and Wealth Empowerment Summit where she spoke on various Aesthetic techniques and demonstrated the Microdermabrasion procedure. Similarly, she was invited to speak and demonstrate Aesthetic services at “Ladies Night” in Chevy Chase at the Georgetown Running Company. Dr. Dyson’s speaking engagements include participating as an expert speaker at the “Heart and Style Fair”—an event created to raise awareness about heart disease in African American Women. She was also an expert panelist at BET’s first “Healthy Lifestyles Day”—a special community forum on fitness, nutrition and lifestyle wellness crowned by Washington D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams and conceptualized by the BET foundation. Dr. Dyson presented health strategies to improve employee health for Home Free USA, a financial institution. Dr. Dyson participates regularly at local community outreach events and health fairs including one held at Ebenezer Baptist church—one of Washington D.C. areas largest local churches.
Writing:
In 2018, Dr. Dyson authored part one in the series for her book “How to Be Healthy” (It’s Not What You Think) based on her lecture “How to Be Healthy” (It’s Not What You Think). Dr. Dyson has written numerous articles including “TAMING THE LION OF MENOPAUSE: A VERY PERSONAL JOURNEY” documenting her navigation through menopause and “Tough Guys Get BOTOX Too!” – A humorous story of a macho guy’s first Botox treatment. Dr. Dyson contributed featured articles on Aesthetics and Wellness to the D-Cene magazine entitled “The Weight Issue: More Than Meets the Eye” and “The War Against Acne”. Dr. Dyson has contributed to a number of health related news and information programs and has written health related articles featured in the Hill Rag, DC North and East of the River newspapers. She contributed to the article “Beautiful (r) Evolution” which appeared in the Washington Life Magazine in April of 2008 and has been featured in the Washingtonian Magazine.
Training and Certifications:
Dr. Dyson is a native Washingtonian and obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Louisville. She completed residency at Howard University Hospital. Dr. Dyson was Board Certified in Internal Medicine from 1997 to 2007 and practices the specialties of Internal Medicine and Bariatrics (Weight loss). Dr. Dyson is the only physician in Washington, D.C. proper certified in the Wiley Protocol®. Dr. Dyson received international certification in Mesotherapy after studying with French Physician, Dr. Jules Marthan. Dr. Marthan was trained by Dr. Michel Pistor, the French Physician who discovered Mesotherapy in 1952. Dr. Dyson obtained additional training in Mesotherapy and aesthetics with Dr. Marthan on location in Nimes, France. Her Mesotherapy training includes cellulite/spot fat reduction, Mesolift (a non-surgical facelift), and thinning of the hair (alopecia). Dr. Dyson has received training in Botox injections from Baltimore plastic surgeon Dr. Dean Kane through the Allergan network the manufacturers of Botox cosmetic. Dr. Dean Kane is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Plastic surgeons and the American Academy of Aesthetic and Restorative Surgery. Dr. Dyson has completed many advanced training courses in Aesthetics which include comprehensive courses in advanced Botox and Filler injection techniques, through the Advanced Aesthetics Institute. Dr. Dyson was the first physician in Washington D. C. proper certified in the Selphyl procedure and the ArqueDerma® Artistic Restoration Lift®. As such, Dr. Dyson is considered an “Advanced Injector” or “Master Injector” of Botox and Fillers. In addition, Dr. Dyson is certified in the injection of a variety of fillers including Restylane, Radiesse, and Juvederm by the Aesthetic Skin Institute. She has also received training in Bellafill (longest lasting filler on the market) and Restylane Silk (used for smoker’s lines). She has also received training in Sclerotherapy and Chemical Facial Peels. In 2018, she was trained in the Sculptra “Butt Lift,” a non-surgical butt lift.
